Job summary

GH Engage in New York City seeks an experienced Estimator to support preconstruction on ground-up residential and affordable housing projects. You will prepare detailed estimates, review drawings, perform quantity takeoffs, and negotiate subcontractor pricing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in a General Contractor environment.
• Experience with ground-up residential, multifamily, or affordable housing projects.
• Strong knowledge of NYC construction practices and subcontractor markets.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and budgets for ground-up residential and affordable housing projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and contract documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate material and labor costs.
• Solicit, analyze, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering options, and potential project risks.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Preconstruction, and Operations teams.
• Assist with bid strategy, budgeting, and subcontractor negotiations.
• Maintain and update estimates throughout the preconstruction and bidding process.

With a strong pipeline of projects and continued growth, they are looking to add an experienced Estimator to their preconstruction team.
