Job summary

TDIndustries, Inc. is seeking an Estimator to support preconstruction and the estimating team by preparing project cost estimates and proposals for mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and process lines.

You will work under Senior Estimators and the Preconstruction Manager to ensure accurate deliverables and successful project outcomes. The role emphasizes scope definition, subcontractor coordination, and cost assembly from take-offs and vendor quotes.

Qualifications

• 0–5 years of experience in mechanical estimating or related construction roles.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Foundational technical knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing, process).
• Basic understanding of drawings, specs, and scope documents to identify cost impacts.
• Ability to learn estimating processes, takeoff methods, and cost control principles.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and RFPs to understand scope and inputs.
• Track addenda and scope changes for updates to estimates.
• Develop specification summaries and assist with quantity take-offs.
• Solicit and compare supplier and subcontractor proposals.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates using quotes, take-offs, and data.
• Participate in value-engineering discussions and proposals.
• Assist with estimate reviews and scope alignment meetings.
• Organize estimate files and track opportunities.
