Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC seeks an experienced Mechanical/Process Estimator for large-scale industrial and manufacturing projects. You will develop estimates for piping, equipment, HVAC, and utilities, review drawings, and evaluate subcontractor bids to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in mechanical systems, quantity takeoffs, and collaboration with design and procurement teams to support preconstruction and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Systems, or related field; equivalent Mechanical/Process estimating considered.
• Experience estimating for industrial construction, advanced manufacturing, or large-scale capital projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process piping, HVAC, and utilities.
• Experience developing and evaluating mechanical estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Ability to interpret drawings, piping isometrics, layouts, and technical specs.
• Experience soliciting and analyzing subcontractor bids; identify gaps and value-engineering opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical and process scopes on large industrial projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses for piping, equipment, HVAC, and utilities.
• Review drawings and bid documents to determine project requirements.
• Develop estimates for labor, materials, equipment, fabrication, and installation.
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for completeness and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
• Support design-build estimating, budgeting, and bid reconciliation.
• Maintain estimating records and historical cost data.
