Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Estimator II for a direct hire opportunity in High Point, NC. The role develops accurate construction estimates from early stages through final bid and works with project management, engineering, procurement, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include takeoffs, reviewing specs, developing bid packages, and handing off to operations after awards, while ensuring timely bid submission and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Construction estimating experience preferred.
• Construction/coatings industry experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
• Excellent math, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to quickly learn estimating software.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and other project documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, including area and volume calculations.
• Identify project risks, conflicts, and unknowns and prepare RFIs as needed.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Develop scopes of work, budgets, estimates, and bid packages.
• Clearly communicate pricing methodology and estimate assumptions.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Regional Managers, engineers, procurement, and subcontractors.
• Complete estimate handoffs to operations following successful awards.
• Meet bid deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
