Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades is actively recruiting an Estimator II for a direct-hire opportunity in North Carolina. The role develops accurate construction estimates from preliminary stages through final bid, collaborating with project management, engineering, procurement, vendors, and subcontractors.

Ideal candidate has construction estimating experience, strong math and analytical skills, and advanced Excel abilities. College background in Construction Management or Engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and project documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, including area and volume calculations.
• Identify project risks, conflicts, and unknowns and prepare RFIs.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Develop scopes of work, budgets, estimates, and bid packages.
• Clearly communicate pricing methodology and estimate assumptions.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Regional Managers, engineers, procurement, and subcontractors.
• Complete estimate handoffs to operations following successful awards.
• Meet bid deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY - ESTIMATOR II

Superior Skilled Trades is seeking an experienced Estimator II for a direct hire opportunity. This position will develop accurate construction estimates from the preliminary stages through final bid and work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, vendors, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and other project documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, including area and volume calculations.
• Identify project risks, conflicts, and unknowns and prepare RFIs as needed.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Develop scopes of work, budgets, estimates, and bid packages.
• Clearly communicate pricing methodology and estimate assumptions.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Regional Managers, engineers, procurement, and subcontractors.
• Complete estimate handoffs to operations following successful awards.

Qualifications:

• Construction estimating experience preferred.
• Construction and/or coatings industry experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
• Excellent math, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to quickly learn estimating software.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
