Stewart Iron Works is seeking an Estimator I to support the estimating team by producing accurate quantity takeoffs, material and labor pricing, and bid preparation. You will help move opportunities from plans to production while learning Division 5 Metals and fabrication processes.
You’ll work with experienced estimators and project teams to understand project scopes, develop estimates, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.
Not just an Estimator. A Builder.
You build the numbers behind exceptional metalwork.
You turn architectural drawings, specifications, material requirements, and project information into accurate estimates that help our team understand what it will take to fabricate and install the work right. You’re detail-oriented, analytical, eager to learn, and interested in building your knowledge of estimating, metal fabrication, and construction.
At Stewart Iron Works, we’re looking for an Estimator I who can support our estimating team with accurate quantity takeoffs, material and labor pricing, bid preparation, and the organization and follow-through needed to move opportunities from plans to production.
At Stewart Iron Works, we are continuing a long tradition of artistry in metalwork and fabrication. We believe exceptional work begins with people who share our values and take pride in what they build.
We recognize that our employees are more than professionals—they’re individuals with families, passions, and full lives outside of work. That’s why we emphasize working hard while living well. Our culture is built around celebrating shared victories, supporting each other’s growth, and leaving a positive mark on our clients and community.
Together, we’re not just fabricating and installing metalwork—we’re building a legacy of quality, integrity, craftsmanship, and purpose.
As an Estimator I, you’ll work alongside experienced estimators and project teams to develop accurate, competitive estimates for metal fabrication and installation projects. You’ll build your understanding of Division 5 Metals while learning how a project moves from drawings and specifications through estimating, fabrication, and field installation.
This is an opportunity to learn the business of estimating while building the work behind some of Stewart Iron Works’ most important projects.
You’ll learn how architectural and structural plans become scopes, quantities, labor hours, material orders, fabricated pieces, and ultimately finished installations. You’ll work alongside people who understand metal fabrication and construction and who can help you develop the technical and commercial judgment required to become a strong estimator.
We’re not looking for someone to simply plug numbers into a spreadsheet. We’re looking for someone who is curious about how things are built, pays attention to the details, asks good questions, protects the integrity of the estimate, and wants to develop expertise in the craft and business of metalwork.
If that sounds like you, let’s build something that lasts.
This position primarily works in an office environment but may also require visits to fabrication facilities, jobsites, and other active construction environments. Employees must comply with Stewart Iron Works safety policies, procedures, and all applicable safety requirements.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
