Job summary

DRB Homes in Englewood, CO is seeking a Bid Packages Specialist to prepare bid packages and assist with required documentation for a home to start, coordinating with current and prospective trade partners.

You will prepare material take-offs, conduct field visits to verify orders, release start packages, process changes and purchase orders, and maintain trade partner contracts and scopes of work, using Newstar purchasing software as needed.

Qualifications

• MS Office proficiency, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience with purchasing software; Newstar is a plus.
• Detail oriented and organized with good prioritization.
• Knowledge of the residential new home construction process.

Responsibilities

• Prepares bid packages and submits to current and prospective trade partners.
• Prepares take-offs for materials (lumber, trim, roofing, siding, etc.).
• Conducts field visits to verify materials ordered are not wasted.
• Assists Purchasing Manager with new community setup in Newstar software.
• Releases job start packages.
• Processes change orders.
• Processes variance purchase orders.
• Liaises between Division & Product Development for current blueprints and trade partner files.
• Works with Purchasing Manager and Community Builders to maintain scopes of work.
• Manages Trade Partner contract files with current pricing and signed contracts.

Job Purpose

Prepare bid packages and assists with the preparation of required documentation for a home to start.

The salary range for this position is from $75,000 to $95,000 per year and includes access to medical, dental, vision, life, disability and supplemental insurance as well as a 401(K) with match.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepares bid packages and submits to current trade partners, as well as prospective trade partners
• Prepares take-offs for materials needed (lumber, trim, roofing, siding, etc…)
• Conducts field visits to verify material ordered is not being wasted
• Assists Purchasing Manager with new community set up in Newstar (Purchasing software)
• Releases job start packages
• Processes change orders
• Processes variance purchase orders
• Acts as a liaison between Division & Product Development to ensure the division has the most current blueprints on file as well as all of our Trade Partners
• Works with the Purchasing Manager and Community Builders to maintain scopes of work
• Manages the Trade Partner contract files (ensuring current pricing, scope of work, contract, etc. is signed by all Trades)

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills

• Proficiency in MS Office software applications, i.e. MS Excel and Word
• Must have previous experience with purchasing software; knowledge of Newstar purchasing software is a plus
• Detail oriented and organized
• Ability to multi-task and appropriately establish priorities
• Knowledge of new home construction process is required

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma required, college degree preferred OR
• 2-4 years of residential homebuilding or estimating experience OR
• Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience
