Job summary

Dream Finders Homes, Inc. is seeking a skilled purchasing professional in Charlotte, NC to help manage subcontractor onboarding and cost-saving initiatives. You will support the Purchasing Director with vendor selection, bid analysis and reporting to drive budget accuracy.

The role requires strong Excel skills, attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with leadership and site teams. Travel between divisions and construction sites may be needed.

Qualifications

  • Two years of estimating or purchasing experience for a production residential builder.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with New Star Enterprise or equivalent software and electronic take-off preferred.
  • MS Office with proficiency in spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Purchasing Director with implementation of new subcontractors.
  • Implement options mapping and new community build out as laid out by Purchasing Director.
  • Scrub jobs to ensure budget accuracy.
  • Negotiate subcontractor pricing to achieve cost reductions.
  • Find qualified trade partners for cost effective construction and quality.
  • Prepare reporting, tracking and rebate information for Net Plus Contract Program.
  • Update approved bid lists.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job description

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
  • At least two (2) years of experience in estimating or purchasing for a production residential builder
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • Experience with New Star Enterprise or Equivalent Software and electronic take off (preferred) but not required
  • MS Office and proficiency with spreadsheets
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail, positive attitude and ability to work as a team member
  • Organization and time management skills are a necessity
  • Exceptional communication skills -- both written and verbal
  • Comfortable presenting ideas and solutions to leadership and key business partners
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Valid Driver's License
