Job Description

DESCRIPTION

An Estimator is responsible for preparing takeoffs, gathering proposals, and reading and understanding bidding documents. They estimate all project costs, including materials, labor, and general conditions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage bid pricing from all vendors
• Prepare takeoffs in OST
• Use Microsoft Excel to calculate estimates
• Assist in transitioning projects from estimating to operations
• Manage bid pricing from all vendors and subcontractors
• Read and interpret architectural plans, detention equipment, security electronics plans, general conditions, and specifications
• Gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents for estimation
• Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying documents
• Calculate costs by analyzing labor, materials, and time
• Resolve discrepancies in bidding documents through communication and analysis of RFPs
• Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor
• Consult with company experts to discuss estimates and resolve bidding issues
• Track RFP addendums and change documents
• Present bidding and award information to project management for a seamless transition from estimating to field operations
• Lift up to 10 lbs
• Perform basic office duties like typing, copying, and emailing
• Communicate effectively and regularly
• Maintain the standards, culture, and values of CML Security
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Estimating experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe or Bluebeam
• Experience with On Screen Takeoff
