Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Estimator to join our leading builder team in Chicago, focusing on complex commercial projects. You will contribute to pursuit through award, interpreting drawings and developing detailed cost estimates using Excel and digital takeoff tools.

Ideal candidates have 2-5 years of estimating experience in a general contracting environment, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work with internal teams and trade partners on multiple estimates concurrently.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in construction estimating within a general contracting environment.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and developing detailed cost estimates.
• Knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and means and methods.
• Proficiency with estimating tools, digital takeoff software, and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
• Analyze labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Support conceptual budgeting and schematic-level pricing exercises.
• Coordinate with internal teams and trade partners during estimating process.
