Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team north of the city. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial projects, review drawings and bid documents, and manage takeoffs with a focus on value engineering.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in commercial construction estimating, proficiency with estimating software and MS Office, and strong analytical and communication skills. Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Experience with estimating software and MS Office.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analyses.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Develop complete bid proposals and assist with tender submissions.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors throughout the preconstruction process.
• Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and estimating records.
• Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and project handovers as required.
