Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced estimator to join a well‑capitalized Chicagoland GC. The role involves collaborating with operations, PMs, and leadership to produce accurate estimates for ground‑up and renovation projects in commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and mixed‑use markets.

With 5+ years of GC estimating experience, you will prepare conceptual, schematic, and GMP estimates, solicit subcontractors, and use estimating software and Excel to deliver competitive bids.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor.
• Experience with commercial construction (ground‑up and/or renovation).
• Strong understanding of scopes, assemblies, and subcontractor trades.
• Ability to prepare conceptual, schematic, and GMP estimates.
• Experience with subcontractor solicitation, leveling, and scope review.
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operations, project managers, and leadership to ensure clean handoffs and accurate bids.
• Influence budgets, means & methods, and project strategy through early involvement.
• Support a stable backlog with competitive bids and strong subcontractor relationships.
