Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator for its Baltimore-area operations. The role focuses on managing the estimating process from bid evaluation through project award on commercial and industrial projects.

The candidate will prepare accurate estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, analyze subcontractor pricing, evaluate project risks, and support successful handoffs to project management. Strong communication and organization are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of construction estimating experience.
• Commercial or industrial construction experience required.
• Electrical estimating experience preferred but not required.
• Experience using estimating software such as Accubid or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete project estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
• Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Utilize estimating software and bid platforms.
• Identify project risks and pricing opportunities.
• Work closely with operations, project management, and field teams.
• Prepare bid proposals and tender documentation.
• Maintain bid tracking logs and reporting.
• Conduct post-bid analysis and supplier comparisons.
• Facilitate detailed handoffs to project management teams after award.
