Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure in Idaho Falls seeks an Estimator to balance customer needs with profitability by accurately pricing projects from drawings and technical docs. You will coordinate with sales, production, engineering, and transportation to deliver timely quotes and bids.

Responsibilities include evaluating RFQs, performing take-offs, and developing cost estimates while maintaining safety and professional conduct on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings.
• 2+ years of construction and/or bidding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of software for proposal drawings.
• Commitment to safety and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Complete take-offs and quotes for RFQs.
• Send quotes to customers before due date with outside sales copied on correspondence.
• Communicate with customers regarding quantity verification and quote structure.
• Collaborate with sales on proposal strategy and design changes.
• Work with vendors to prepare bids and write proposals.
• Manage bids that vary in size and complexity.
• Review drawings, specifications, proposals to prepare cost and labor estimates.
• Use market-based price lists provided by sales manager.
• Assist in developing department improvements such as data and templates.
• Maintain a safe, professional demeanor with peers and customers.
• Ensure timely attendance and compliance with safety procedures.
