Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, seeks an Estimator to ensure profitability by accurately estimating project costs from drawings and documents, producing timely quotes in cooperation with sales, production, engineering, and transportation.

This onsite role supports RFQ processing and bid development across multiple locations. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred with 3+ years of bidding experience; travel may be required as projects span North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Reading and interpreting schematics and engineering drawings.
• 3+ years of recent construction and/or bidding experience is a plus.
• Travel occasionally as required.

Responsibilities

• Complete take-offs and quotes for RFQs from the outside sales team.
• Send quotes to customers before due date and copy the outside salesperson.
• Manage overflow projects to ensure timely turnaround.
• Communicate with customers regarding quantity verification and quote structure.
• Collaborate with sales on proposal strategy and design changes.
• Work with vendors to prepare bids and write proposals.
• Manage bids of varying size and complexity.
• Review drawings and specifications to prepare cost and labor estimates.
