Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for its Atlanta region, based in Smyrna, GA. You will perform quantitative takeoffs, maintain vendor pricing, and solicit subcontractor bids for non-self-perform work.

The role requires strong reading of specifications and drawings, excellent communication, and a track record in cost analysis and project scheduling. You will help with bid reviews, customer alignment, and project hand-offs to operations.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years’ experience estimating construction projects.
  • Total experience of 10+ years in the construction industry.
  • Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction.
  • Able to read specifications and drawings for PCI scopes.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and cost analysis skills.
  • Ability to read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations.
  • Proficiency with takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift.
  • Team-oriented and capable of working independently.
  • Willingness to expand knowledge of product lines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team.

  • Contract administration for secured projects.
  • Prepare wage and benefit schedules.
  • Assist in hand-off of secured projects to Operations Team.
  • Assist in other duties such as change orders or billings.

Job Description

PCI is seeking an experienced SeniorEstimator for its PCI Atlanta 101 operations based in Smyrna, GA.

  • Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
  • Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group.
  • Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
  • Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team.
  • Participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Contract administration for secured projects.
  • Prepare wage and benefit schedules.
  • Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s).

This position is safety sensitive.

Basic Requirements
  • Must have at least 5-7 years’ experience estimating construction projects
  • Must have at least 10 years of total experience within the construction industry
  • Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
  • Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods
  • Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills
  • Ability to accurately read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift
  • Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently
  • Has capacity and willingness to expand upon or acquire new knowledge about product lines/scopes
  • Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
  • Experience with drywall and framing for commercial interior projects.
  • Experience working with union representatives is preferred.
  • OSHA Certification.
  • Local to Atlanta metro
