Job summary

Performance Contracting Group seeks an experienced Estimator for PCI Memphis 142 operations in Memphis, TN. The role involves performing estimating duties for PCI's scopes of work and coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

The position requires at least 2 years in estimation, strong reading of specifications and drawings, and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office. A competitive compensation package includes a bonus program and safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience estimating construction projects.
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction.
• Ability to read, interpret specifications and drawings for PCI scopes.
• Record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to cost analysis and detail.
• Ability to read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations.
• Proficient with takeoff/estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid).
• Proficient with MS Office; Bluebeam Revu, Procore, PlanSwift.
• Understand estimating techniques and bidding processes.
• Able to work in a collaborative team or independently.
• Willingness to learn new skills and apply them.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess market conditions to set margin percentages.
• Participate in internal bid reviews with supervisors.

• Use wage and benefit schedules in estimates.
• Handoff secured projects to Operations team.
• Assist with change orders and billings as needed.
• Support other estimating team members for product line collaboration.

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Estimator for its PCI Memphis 142 operations based in Memphis, TN. This individual will perform estimating duties for PCI's various scopes of work.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects
• Establish labor productivities for estimate
• Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing
• Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self‑performing group
• Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages
• Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams
• Participate in customer alignment objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relations
• Contract administration for secured projects
• Utilize wage and benefit schedules
• Hand off secured projects to the Operations team
• Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s)
• Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration

Salary range: $76,000–$100,000 annual salary plus non‑guaranteed annualized bonus program.

This position is safety‑sensitive.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years of experience estimating construction projects
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
• Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI's scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods
• Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills
• Ability to accurately read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work
• Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On‑Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift
• Must have a sharp understanding of estimating techniques and the bidding process
• Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently
• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they're learned
• Possess critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Construction Science, or related discipline or work experience in lieu of degree
• Experience with estimating/project management/managing specialty scopes of construction
• OSHA certification
• Experience working with union representatives
• Local to Memphis, TN
