Job summary

Performance Contracting seeks a Senior Estimator for PCI Cincinnati 581 in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves preparing RFPs, evaluating subcontractor quotes, and leading bid reviews with owners, CM, architects and engineers.

You will develop detailed quantity takeoffs, analyze schedules, and write comprehensive proposals. Strong communication and leadership are essential, with a focus on delivering accurate estimates and maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years' experience estimating construction projects.
• At least 10 years total construction industry experience.
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes.
• Ability to read specifications and drawings for PCI's scopes.
• Strong customer relationship skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficient with takeoff software (On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and evaluate RFPs for PCI scopes.
• Receive and evaluate subcontractor quotes against bid documents.
• Develop relationships with local customers to support PCI objectives.
• Collaborate with owners, CM, architects, engineers and contractors.

• Lead and train estimating team as needed; own performance metrics.

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for its PCI Cincinnati 581 operations based in Cincinnati, OH.

Job responsibilities include:

• Prepare Requests for Proposal (RFP) for applicable scopes of work
• Receive and evaluate subcontractor quotes for applicable scopes and their alignment with bid documents
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with the local customer base to support PCI’s Customer Alignment objectives
• Work directly with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors
• Attend pre-bid site walk-throughs
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and estimates
• Dissect projects into functional stages
• Carefully review project schedules related to applicable scopes
• Write detailed proposals, maintaining accuracy and ensuring completeness
• Prepare bid analyses and conduct bid reviews
• Prepare financial job cost analyses
• Source subcontractors, materials, and equipment while evaluating competitive pricing
• Provide training and leadership to other members of the Estimating team, as needed
• Maintain accountability and ownership of business metrics and sales plans
• Participate in bid strategy meetings for all major pursuits

Salary range: $102,000 - $120,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

This position is safety-sensitive.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 5-7 years’ experience estimating construction projects
• Must have at least 10 years of total experience within the construction industry
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
• Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods
• Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills
• Ability to accurately read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work
• Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or Plan Swift
• Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently
• Has capacity and willingness to expand upon or acquire new knowledge about product lines/scopes
• Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Construction Science, or related discipline
• Experience with Quick Bid, On Screen Takeoffs, BuzzBid
• OSHA certification
• Experience working with union representatives
• Local to Cincinnati, OH Metro area
