Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of estimating construction projects.
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes.
• Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Proven track record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented with cost analysis skills.
• Ability to read project schedules to determine sequencing.
• Proficiency with takeoff/estimating software (On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid).
• Proficiency with MS Office; Bluebeam Revu, Procore, PlanSwift.
• Understanding of estimating techniques and bidding process.
• Teamwork and ability to work independently.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.

• Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-performing group.
• Understand market conditions including backlog, risk, and margins.
• Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams.
• Participate in customer alignment objectives by maintaining positive relations.
• Contract administration for secured projects.
• Utilize wage and benefit schedules.
• Handoff secured projects to the Operations team.
• Assist in change order management or billings.
• Support Estimating team for product line collaboration.

Job Description

Performance Contracting is seeking an experienced Estimator for its PCI Memphis 142 operations based in Memphis, TN. This individual will perform estimating duties for PCI\'s various scopes of work.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects
• Establish labor productivities for estimate
• Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing
• Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-performing group
• Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages
• Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams
• Participate in customer alignment objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relations
• Contract administration for secured projects
• Utilize wage and benefit schedules
• Hand off secured projects to the Operations team
• Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s)
• Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration

Salary range: $76,000-$100,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

This position is safety-sensitive.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years of experience estimating construction projects
• Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
• Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI\'s scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods
• Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
• Possess a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills
• Ability to accurately read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work
• Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift
• Must have a sharp understanding of estimating techniques and the bidding process
• Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently
• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they’re learned
• Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Construction Science, or related discipline or work experience in leu of degree
• Experience with estimating/project management/managing specialty scopes of construction.
• OSHA certification
• Experience working with union representatives
• Local to Memphis, TN
