Job summary

Performance Contracting is seeking an entry-level Associate Project Engineer for its PCI Atlanta 101 operations based in Smyrna, GA. You’ll gain hands-on experience in project management and estimating, building a foundation for professional growth within our employee-owned organization.

The role emphasizes safety, QA/QC, takeoffs, scheduling, and cross-functional collaboration on commercial projects, with a clear path to leadership in an innovative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take initiative.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety meetings and create/manage punch lists.
  • Support PCI QA/QC program and takeoffs for material ordering.
  • Prepare RFIs and submittals; coordinate warranties and O&M.
  • Labor control on projects, including setup and maintenance.
  • Assist in implementing the job schedule and tracking progress.
  • Coordinate material purchases with PO and invoicing.

Performance Contracting is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing employee‑owned organization as an entry‑level Associate Project Engineer for its PCI Atlanta 101 operations based in Smyrna, GA.

The Associate Project Engineer role serves as a launchpad for future leaders at PCI. It's a dynamic position offering hands‑on experience in project management and estimating, setting the stage for professional growth and career advancement in an innovative environment.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Conducting safety meetings
  • Creating and managing punch lists
  • Supporting the Quality Control Measures outlined in PCI’s QA/QC program
  • Preparing RFI’s and submittals
  • Labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
  • Quantitative takeoffs for material ordering
  • Supporting the implementation of the job schedule
  • Coordinating warranties and O&M’s
  • Material coordination with purchase orders and invoicing

Salary range: $70,080 - $87,600 annual salary plus a non‑guaranteed annualized bonus program.

This position is safety‑sensitive.

Basic Requirements
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, or comparable work experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)
  • A clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to learn new skills by engaging in technical job functions and applying new skills as they are taught
