Job summary

Jobot seeks an experienced Estimator for a luxury residential builder in San Francisco. You will translate drawings and specs into airtight cost estimates from early budgets to final bids, coordinating with preconstruction, PM, and field teams to keep estimates grounded in reality.

Qualifications

• Real estimating experience in residential construction — bonus points for high-end, custom, or luxury work.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings, specs, and scopes of work.
• Strong command of construction methods, materials, and current market costs.
• Fluency with estimating and takeoff software, plus the usual spreadsheet and project tools.
• Serious attention to detail and the analytical chops to back it up.
• Collaborative, proactive, client-first mindset in a tight, quality-obsessed team.

Responsibilities

• Turn drawings, specs, and big ideas into accurate cost estimates from early budgets to final bids.
• Run detailed quantity takeoffs and build out cost breakdowns across labor, materials, equipment, and subs.
• Analyze architectural and structural documents to map scope and cost drivers.
• Gather, level, and pressure-test subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, project management, and field teams to align estimates with goals.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities and flag risks early.
• Improve cost data and unit costs for tighter estimates.
• Help shape proposals and present numbers clearly and credibly.
