Job summary

Waypoint Contracting, Inc. is seeking a Construction Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial and residential projects. The role analyzes plans, collaborates with subcontractors, and supports bidding and preconstruction phases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial or residential construction.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency in estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Planhub or similar).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine scope of work.
• Assist in preparing detailed project cost estimates and bid proposals.
• Assist in subcontractor prequalification processes.
• Develop and maintain qualified subcontractor bid invitation lists.
• Solicit, obtain, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Perform quantity take-offs and obtain material pricing.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Participate in pre-proposal meetings and prepare RFIs.
• Evaluate project plans and specifications for constructability.
• Help prepare, organize, and coordinate Request for Proposal (RFP) documents.
• Maintain historical cost data and perform document archiving.
• Communicate regularly with management, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams.
• Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as required.
