Job summary

Commercial Metals (CMC) is seeking a detail-oriented estimator/buyer assistant to produce accurate material lists for shop fabrication, complete estimate summaries, and assist with detailing and field problem research. You will coordinate with sales and ensure timely, accurate bids while maintaining records and supporting customers.

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical skills and technical writing required.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time under minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications, particularly Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Produces accurate and detailed lists of material for shop fabrication.
• Completes Estimate Summary sheet.
• Assists with the research of detailing, fabrication, and field problems.
• Responsible for the Bid Process and Coordinating with Responsible Salesman.
• Ensures outstanding service and meets customer needs at all levels, via phone calls, meetings, and job sites.
• Maintains accurate records and documentation for each job and a clean work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

What You'll Need

• Strong Mathematical skills and technical writing skills required
• Ability to deal with uncertainty and work under minimal supervision required
• Ability to multi-task and manage time required
• Ability to interact and communicate with co-workers, company leaders, and customers in a positive manner required
• Ability to follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required
• Strong proficiency in MS Office Applications, particularly Excel
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
