Job summary

Commercial Metals is seeking team-oriented candidates to support operations across our recycling and manufacturing facilities. The role involves helping maintain a clean, safe work area and operating production equipment following established procedures.

You will participate in safety programs, weigh and identify materials, and ensure accurate record-keeping for deliveries and shipments while supporting continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a team player with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail are required.
• Excellent organizational skills and reliability are essential.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, safe condition and follows safety regulations.
• Operates production equipment per established procedures and guidelines.
• Participates in safety programs and upholds safety culture.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Accurately identifies materials and assigns correct value.
• Assesses weights for inbound/outbound materials and directs to proper process area.

What You'll Do

• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
• Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Accurate identification of material to assign correct value
• Assesses weigh materials, inbound & outbound, and directs into the appropriate process area, as well as prices tickets
• Coordinate and process scrap carrier's information upon pick-up and outbound of scrap
• Identifies & weighs in-bound and out-bound metal shipments; provides quality customer service, and ensures customer specifications and contract requirements are fulfilled
• Maintain accurate record keeping of all documents related to deliveries and shipments
• Verify all purchases meet federal, state, and local regulatory requirements

What You'll Need

• Able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills
• Minimum 1 year experience in either recycling and/or manufacturing environment preferred
• Prior knowledge of metal identification is a plus
• Basic computer skills such as familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

Your Education

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
