Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, invites applications for an estimator role supporting steel reinforcement fabrication and field coordination in Dallas, TX. You will produce detailed material lists, assist with bid and detailing work, and ensure accurate documentation for shop fabrication and field needs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and technical writing skills.
  • MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Produces accurate and detailed lists of material for shop fabrication.
  • Completes Estimate Summary sheet.
  • Assists with detailing, fabrication, and field problem research.
  • Manages the bid process and coordinates with the responsible salesman.
  • Ensures outstanding service and documents customer interactions.
  • Maintains records and keeps a clean work area.

What You'll Do
  • Produces accurate and detailed lists of material for shop fabrication
  • Completes Estimate Summary sheet
  • Assists with the research of detailing, fabrication, and field problems
  • Responsible for the Bid Process and Coordinating with Responsible Salesman
  • Responsible for making sure outstanding service is taking place and all efforts are taken to satisfy customer needs at all levels, phone calls, meetings, and job sites
  • Maintains accurate records and documentation for each job and a desirable work area
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need
  • Strong Mathematical skills and technical writing skills required
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and work under minimal supervision required
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time required
  • Ability to interact and communicate with co-workers, company leaders, and customers in a positive manner required
  • Ability to follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Applications, particularly Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
