Job summary

Entech Network Solutions, LLC in the Greater Chicago Area is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team and develop competitive bids for commercial paving, concrete, and sitework projects. You will work closely with project teams to ensure bids reflect realistic costs and schedules.

The ideal candidate has hands-on estimating experience, strong understanding of construction costs, and can manage estimates from takeoffs through bid submission.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience with a commercial paving, concrete civil construction, or sitework contractor.
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving, concrete installation, grading, excavation, and site preparation.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs and preparing detailed construction estimates.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Knowledge of labor productivity, material pricing, equipment costs, and subcontractor coordination.

Responsibilities

• Review civil drawings, specs, bid docs for paving, concrete, and sitework.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, grading.
• Develop accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subs.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and docs.
• Collaborate with PMs, field ops, and vendors to align estimates.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Manage multiple estimates and bid deadlines with accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Review civil drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements for commercial paving, concrete, and sitework projects.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, grading, excavation, and related site improvements.
• Develop accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
• Prepare comprehensive bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, field operations, and vendors to align estimates with actual construction requirements.
• Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities.
