Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an estimator support professional to provide quantity take-offs and ongoing technical support to the estimating staff, ensuring accurate and timely estimates. You will review plans and specs with the estimating team, develop data such as quantity take-offs and labor costs, and assist in bid closing to reflect project requirements.

A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred, with 0–2 years’ construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years construction estimating support or similar experience.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specifications with the estimating team to determine specific take-off needs to ensure requirements are met.
• Develop job essential data including quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour, and equipment to ensure accurate estimates and bids.
• Research historical data and productivity analysis reports to compile summary reports for future estimates.
• Review take-off data/summaries with estimating team and assist in Bid Closing to ensure quantities reflect project requirements.
• Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures to support accuracy of bid submission.
