Job summary

Blattner, located in Avon, Minnesota, seeks a Manager I – Estimating (Gas Power Generation) to lead preconstruction and estimating for utility-scale GPG projects from scope review to handoff. You will coordinate bid strategies, assess risks, and work with engineering, procurement, and clients to deliver competitive, accurate estimates.

The role also involves managing estimating teams, driving process improvements, mentoring staff, and ensuring seamless transitions from preconstruction to project

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applicable preconstruction and/or construction experience or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience in estimating, project management, contract negotiations and sound construction methods.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Displays ethics and ensures quality bids.
• Develop department strategy and vision with regular reporting.
• Advises and supports Manager Estimating with planning for pre-bid, schedule and proposal prep.
• Supports executive approval mega project reviews.
• Supervises and mentors subordinates through training and diverse experiences.
• Verifies cost of quality and safety requirements (training, PPE) and includes costs in estimates.
