Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis and serving customers nationwide, is seeking an Estimating Manager for its Critical Infrastructure Group.

This role oversees all day-to-day estimating operations, ensuring accurate material takeoffs for critical infrastructure projects across the United States. You will lead a regional estimating team, coordinate with sales, pre-bid, and engineering, and drive quality, consistency, and strategic bid opportunities while mentoring staff and balancing workloads.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years prior experience in bid preparation, sales or construction.
• Experience estimating and projecting for budgeting.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Extensive product knowledge of waterworks material.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily estimating operations for all project types and complexity levels.
• Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely material takeoffs.
• Assigns and monitors project workloads across teams and regions.
• Reviews complex takeoffs for accuracy and completeness.
• Guides teams on design build methodology, material recommendations, and early-stage project input.
• Collaborates with regional estimating, sales, and engineering teams to ensure scope clarity.
