Job summary

Core & Main, based in St. Louis with nationwide reach, seeks an Estimating Manager for the Critical Infrastructure Group (CIG). This role oversees estimating operations, ensures accurate takeoffs, and drives quality across projects nationwide.

You will partner with regional leadership, sales, and PreBid to implement consistent practices, support strategic bid pursuits, and guide design-build engagements. Leadership of a multi-region team is required.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years prior experience in bid preparation or construction.
• Experience estimating and budgeting projections.
• Extensive knowledge of waterworks materials.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related discipline preferred.
• Professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily estimating operations for all project types and complexity levels.
• Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely material takeoffs across the regional estimating team.
• Assigns and monitors project workloads, balancing capacity across teams and regions.
• Reviews complex and high-visibility takeoffs for accuracy and completeness.
• Guides teams on design-build methodology and material recommendations.
• Supports major regional pursuits and strategic bid approaches.
• Coordinates with sales, engineering and PreBid for scope clarity and RFIs.
• Provides coaching and career development to estimators.
• Delivers regular productivity and performance reports.
