Job summary

Total Talent Advisors, LLC is seeking an experienced construction estimating professional in Colorado Springs. The role focuses on preparing time, cost, materials, and labor estimates from drawings and specifications, and coordinating with clients, vendors, and foremen to resolve issues.

The candidate will perform detailed quantity takeoffs, develop cost analyses, and support management with planning and scheduling estimates. Negotiations and tendering processes are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates from drawings and specs.
• Ability to develop accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed cost analyses.
• Experience mentoring, supervising, or leading estimators is preferred.
• Solid understanding of commercial construction plans and specifications.
• Proven ability to translate production rates into labor, equipment, materials and cost.
• Experience with standard estimating software; Pro-Est a plus.

Job description

• Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
• Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
• Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
• Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
• Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong preference for experience in cast-in-place concrete construction.
• Previous experience mentoring, supervising, or managing estimators.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction plans, specifications, and
• Demonstrated ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop detailed
• Strong understanding of production rates and how they translate into labor,

equipment, material, and project cost assumptions.

• Proficiency with standard construction estimating software.
• Experience with Pro-Est is a plus.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with commercial general

contractors.

• Ability to identify and clearly communicate value engineering opportunities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, bids, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working directly with commercial general contractors.
• Established relationships within the commercial construction industry.
• Experience with negotiated work, design-assist, or preconstruction services.
• Experience developing or improving estimating processes and systems.
• Experience managing or leading an estimating department.

This position is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and operates within a

commercial construction and preconstruction environment. The role requires the ability

to manage multiple priorities, meet strict bid deadlines, communicate with internal and

external stakeholders, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
