Job summary

Ascend is seeking a Tax Manager with public accounting experience to lead engagements from planning through Principal review, serving as the client contact and ensuring high-quality returns with AI-enabled tools.

You will develop, coach, and motivate team members—including those remote or on shared-service teams—and contribute to business development and advisory opportunities throughout the year.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or related field.
• CPA license required; EA or JD/LL.M. considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned engagements from planning through Principal review.
• Review complex returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
• Serve as primary client contact and business advisor for assigned clients.
• Identify planning and advisory opportunities year-round.
• Delegate with engagement economics and team development in mind.
• Develop and coach team across in-person, hybrid, and remote settings.
