Job summary

SBM is seeking a House Manager to oversee daily operations of the main estate in Hawaii alongside the Estate Manager. You will supervise staff, coordinate contractors, troubleshoot systems, and ensure safety and maintenance standards are met.

The role also covers purchasing, expense tracking, and reporting on project status. Candidates should have 5+ years in house management with hands-on repair skills, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple projects and safety protocols,

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of property systems and maintenance practices.
• Ability to manage contractors and coordinate multiple projects.
• Ability to create high level reports on household projects and staff.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and emergency procedures.
• Organizational and administrative proficiency.
• Hands-on repair skills and problem-solving ability.
• Flexible and able to work on the weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Main House, including pond management and general troubleshooting.
• Coordinate setups and breakdowns for visits and special events.
• Manage routine building maintenance for interior and exterior finishes.
• Schedule and supervise service contractors for upkeep and specialized tasks.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting for cabinets, appliances, doors, windows, lighting, and alarm systems.
• Maintain knowledge of property systems (HVAC, pumps, etc.).
• Assist with payroll backup and expense reporting.
• Ensure safety standards and conduct regular safety inspections.
• Implement visitor protocols and ensure secure access; respond to security alerts.
• Contribute to purchasing and implement accurate reporting.
