Job summary

The Biltmore Company is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to maintain roads, landscapes, and utilities on the estate. You will operate heavy machinery, tractors, and trucks, performing grading, snow and ice removal, and related tasks on a multi-shift schedule.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 2+ years of related experience, with strong safety knowledge and guest-service orientation. CDL Class A is preferred; training for required certifications may be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; two-year related degree preferred.
• 2+ years related experience; equivalent education considered.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in similar environments preferred.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to protocols.
• Excellent communication and guest-service focus.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (backhoe, excavator, bulldozer, dump truck) for roads, trails, and maintenance.
• Operate agricultural equipment for wildlife plots and related tasks.
• Maintain roads, drainage, grading, and perform snow/ice removal as needed.
• Assist other departments with trenching, grading, hauling, and repairs.
• Perform light maintenance on equipment and tools; ensure storage and organization.
• On-call 24/7 for flood response and winter maintenance.
