Qualifications

• Evidence of successful experience in student relations.
• Meets No Child Left Behind requirements: associate’s degree, 60 college credits, or passing scores on state-approved assessment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in instructional support capacity via tutoring, teaching or related work in education.
• IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in achieving the teacher's daily educational objectives.
• Provide support in instruction under direct supervision of the teacher.
• Help maintain a safe and secure classroom environment and support behavior management systems.
• Attend parent/teacher conferences as needed to support communication with parents about student performance.
• Assist with non-teaching tasks such as organizing materials, copying, monitoring recess, or supervising lunch when permitted.
