Job summary

Katy ISD TAYS JUNIOR HIGH – Katy, Texas seeks an Aide - ESL Junior High to support secondary emergent bilingual students. You will collaborate with the ESL teacher, campus EB Specialist, and core teachers to deliver high-quality language instruction and ensure compliance with ESL program requirements.

The role requires flexibility, strong organization, and experience working with students. This full-time position starts immediately and involves 187 duty days annually in a non-exempt capacity.

Qualifications

• College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test.
• College hours, high school diploma or GED required for Non-Title I campus.
• Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed.
• Ability to work with students and staff.
• Ability to manage a flexible schedule.
• School experience or volunteer experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Campus EB Specialist, ESL teacher, and core content-area teachers to support EB students.
• Provide high-quality ESL support to secondary emergent bilingual students.
• Assist with language instruction and alignment to ESL program requirements.
• Administer tests and assist at the EL Testing Center as needed.
• Maintain student confidentiality and participate in professional growth activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
