Job summary

Katy ISD MAYDE CREEK JUNIOR HIGH in Houston, Texas is seeking an Aide - ESL (Secondary) to support emergent bilingual students. Immediate start; duties include collaboration with the ESL team, core teachers, and monitoring EB progress.

The role requires organizing small group instruction, administering tests, and ensuring compliance with ESL policies. 187 workdays; non-exempt status; starting pay grade IS03.

Qualifications

• College hours for Title I campus: 48 required or a ParaPro score of 464.
• High school diploma or GED required for Non-Title I campus.
• Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed.
• Ability to work with students and staff and meet deadlines.
• School experience or volunteer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with core content-area and special education teachers to meet EB students’ needs.
• Provide targeted small group instruction based on language levels.
• Implement ESL program model in line with district policies for EBs.
• Administer oral and written tests for EB students as needed.
• Maintain student confidentiality and participate in professional development.
