University of Delaware’s English Language Institute (ELI) is seeking Program Assistants for short-term language programs in Newark, DE. Open to undergraduate and graduate students, you will help coordinate cultural activities, assist housing check-in/out, and support program staff.

Responsibilities include communications with the Program Coordinator, calendar management, activity planning, and ensuring English usage during activities.

Competenze

• Experience working with international students and/or scholars.
• Ability to self-manage schedule and communicate scheduling issues to the supervisor with adequate advance notice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with staff and multilingual students and scholars.
• Proficiency with Google Drive (Docs and Sheets).

Mansioni

• Communications: Maintain regular communication with the Program Coordinator.
• Review schedule of availability and program calendar prior to start of the program.
• Update ELI administrators on any issues or concerns and communicate changes to participants and staff.
• Activity Coordination: Assist with planning and execution of cultural activities for program participants.
• Assist housing check-in/out and identify new activities.
• Reschedule activities in inclement weather and plan alternatives.
• Procurement: Purchase and prepare supplies for activities.
• Encourage participants to engage in English during activities and escort students on trips.
• Assist with planning and delivery of End of Program Ceremony.
• Participant Communications: Communicate with participants using a preferred platform.
• Administrative Tasks: Use Google Drive to access program calendar and maintain hours.
