Job summary

Sigma Earth is seeking an experienced ESG consultant in New Jersey to lead sustainability projects across advisory and assurance workstreams. You will drive delivery, oversee project teams, and maintain client relationships to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You possess 4+ years in ESG advisory, deep knowledge of ESRS, CSRD, GRI, TCFD, EU Taxonomy, and you can analyze data in Excel and present clear insights in English and Greek.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of ESG, sustainability, or related advisory experience.
• Knowledge of ESRS, CSRD, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, EU Taxonomy.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint with large datasets.
• Fluent in English and Greek, with strong written and verbal communication.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Manage ESG and sustainability projects across both consulting and assurance workstreams, ensuring high-quality delivery, timely completion, and adherence to budget.
• Lead project teams effectively while maintaining strong client relationships and delivery standards.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in sustainability, ESG advisory, and ESG reporting.
• Apply established methodologies or design new approaches to support clients with ESG and sustainability-related projects.
• Help clients comply with emerging sustainability reporting requirements, including CSRD, EU Taxonomy, and other relevant directives and regulations.
• Stay updated on global and regional ESG trends, new standards, tools, frameworks, and certifications.
• Share key updates, market developments, and regulatory implications with internal teams.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, or related advisory fields.
• Strong understanding of national and EU sustainability regulations and reporting developments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a sustainability-related discipline.
• Master’s degree in a sustainability-related field will be considered a strong advantage.
• Proven knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards such as ESRS, CSRD, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, ISO 14001, EMAS, ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, and EU Taxonomy.
• Ability to use both quantitative and qualitative analysis to solve sustainability-related business challenges.
• Strong project management skills with proven experience overseeing projects from planning to completion.
• Self-motivated, proactive, organised, and solution-oriented, with a positive “can-do” attitude.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience managing and analysing large datasets.
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to present clear and well-structured viewpoints.
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and time management abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English.
