Job summary

Charter Schools USA in New York seeks an ESE Specialist to oversee the school's Exceptional Student Education program and supervise ESE teachers. You will ensure compliance with state law and CSUSA policies while directing services for students with disabilities.

You will provide consultant support to staff, educate parents about programs and rights, and coordinate IEPs/ITPs/EPs. Travel to CSUSA sites is expected as needed, supporting strong student outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
• Master's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Certified in one area of Exceptional Education (two areas preferred).
• Minimum of three years teaching experience.
• Excellent instructional delivery techniques and communication skills.
• Other duties as CSUSA may deem appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Supervise ESE Teachers and the school's ESE program.
• Review evaluation data to determine eligibility of exceptional students.
• Maintain confidentiality of personally identifiable data.
• Provide consultant services to staff on eligibility, placement, and services.
• Educate parents about programs, locations, and rights of ESE students.
• Serve as liaison among ESE, regular education, and parents.
• Coordinate IEPs, ITPs, FSPs, and EPs per state requirements.
• Assist in developing inclusive procedures for CSUSA schools.
• Travel to CSUSA sites as required.
• Report FTE data to appropriate bodies and support program improvements.
