Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; or two years of postsecondary study.
• Associate’s degree or higher preferred; if not, pass the ParaPro exam.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing materials for instruction and distribute items as planned.
• Schedule space for programs and arrange equipment and furniture as needed.
• Review long/short term plans to anticipate supplies and materials.
• Lead small group activities under teacher guidance.
• Support diverse learners and adapt to different backgrounds and needs.
• Assist in implementing student behavior management strategies.
• Help maintain records, materials, and equipment security.
• Enforce classroom rules and maintain required records.
