Job summary

Wakulla County School District seeks a para-professional to support teachers and students in a positive educational environment. You will prepare instructional materials, supervise groups, and assist with assessments while maintaining confidential records and following classroom rules.

You will collaborate with staff, attend training, and help adapt instruction to diverse student needs as part of a quality educational program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 60 s.h. or an associate degree; or Praxis ParaPro exam.
• Proficiency in typing, office machines, filing and strong written/oral communication.
• Experience with children in an educational setting.
• All current school para-pros must meet highly qualified requirements by 6/3/11.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing materials for instructional activities.
• Schedule space and coordinate equipment and classroom setup.
• Assist in collecting assessment data and compiling it for review.
• Lead small group activities and support diverse learners.
• Maintain records, enforce classroom rules, and protect confidentiality.
• Provide instructional assistance as planned by the teacher.
