Job summary

Sarasota School District is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to support academic and behavioral instruction for students under the direction of the classroom teacher.

Responsibilities include supervising students, aiding staff with behavior management, and helping maintain a safe learning environment. The role requires basic computer skills and strong communication, with professional development including CPI training and potential ASD certification during probation.

Qualifications

• A passing score on the Para Pro Assessment Test or an Associate of Arts’ / Associate of Science Degree or sixty (60) hour equivalent from an accredited educational institution.
• Must successfully complete verbal and physical CPI training within the probationary period.
• May be required to register for forty (40) hours of training in autism and/or related disorders to obtain ASD certification by the end of probation.

• Independently supervise and implement instruction to students as assigned.
• Assist staff with behavioral management.
• Assist in creating a safe learning environment and workplace.
• Assist with preparation of accurate records, reports and other clerical duties.
