Job summary

Charter Schools USA is seeking an ESE Assistant to support the special education teacher and assist students with disabilities in a family-friendly environment. You will provide physical and emotional support to help students gain maximum benefit from instruction.

The role includes assisting with therapy activities, behavior management, and transportation safety, requiring compassion, reliability, and ability to work with diverse learners in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with therapy techniques and equipment.
• Support implementation of individualized rehabilitative plans.
• Perform physical, therapeutic and self-help activities.
• Assist students with bathroom and physical needs as needed.
• Help transfer students between wheelchair, floor, table or device.
• Assist with loading/unloading students from transportation.
• Support students with class projects and curriculum tasks.
• Contribute to behavior management and safety on trips.
