Taylor Morrison is seeking an Escrow Post Closing Auditor in Houston to join Inspired Title Services, a builder affiliate account. You will audit post-closing files, ensure compliance with guidelines, and prepare final policies for delivery to relevant parties.

Responsibilities include verifying curative documents, recording with Simplifile, balancing funds, and disbursing wires, while maintaining high integrity and strong communication with lenders and internal teams.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of escrow experience.
  • Texas applicant only: Escrow License or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.
  • Must have high integrity, technical competence and high moral character.
  • Strong communications skills - written, verbal, and listening.
  • Proficient in title production and closing software (SoftPro, Ramquest, ResWare) including spreadsheet, word processing, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, organize and audit closed title files for accuracy, completeness and compliance.
  • Communicate with appropriate parties to resolve questions and concerns regarding title files.
  • Review and verify documents related to curative matters, satisfactions and releases.
  • Record documents via Simplifile and verify recording fees.
  • Balance the file, disburse funds and verify outgoing wire transfers.
  • Prepare closing packages and documents for recording with counties.

As an Escrow Post Closing Auditor working for Inspired Title Services, a builder affiliate account to Taylor Morrison's title company, you will be responsible for all post-closing functions, including auditing the file to ensure all requirements have been met/satisfied, appropriate documentation has been obtained and is documented in the file, and for the preparation of final policies in accordance with final markup and pro forma, and delivery of same to the appropriate parties to the transaction.

Job Details
  • Review, verify, organize and audit closed title files to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with company and regulatory guidelines
  • Communicate with appropriate parties to resolve questions and concerns regarding title file
  • Review and verify documents relative to all curative matters, including satisfactions and releases
  • Review/ verify names on contract, buyer identification, vesting, completion of notary acknowledgements, legal descriptions, and lien information, and record documents via Simplifile
  • Review Simplifile recording fees collected are accurate versus amount collected
  • Disburse file
  • Prepare receipts/deposits for all funds received from customers and/or lenders
  • Send and receive funding authorization from the lender
  • Balance the file, disburse all funds and verify outgoing wire transfers
  • Prepare and copies for disbursement and closing transmittals
  • Prepare and ship closing packages: Verify that documents are properly signed by all parties
  • Prepare documents for recording with various counties, while ensuring documents meet recording regulations
  • Verify legal descriptions and acknowledgements
  • Distribute recorded Deed of Trust to the lender
  • Perform other duties as assigned

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

This position is considered a non-exempt position for purposes of wage-hour law, which means that you will be required to keep a time record and will be eligible for overtime pay.

Essential Functions
  • Report to Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to schedule
  • Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer and/or electronic device
  • Ability to have face to face conversations with customers, co-workers and higher-level manager
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and move around work environment as needed
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle if applicable
  • Comply with company policies and procedure
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time
  • The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Taylor Morrison experience and/or successful completion of training program may override required education and/or experience requirement.
