Job summary

Old Republic Title in Tomball, TX is seeking an organized Escrow Assistant or Escrow Officer to join our Central Title Division. You will work onsite Monday through Friday with escrow and title professionals to ensure accurate, timely real estate closings.

This role involves opening escrow orders, coordinating document delivery, reviewing title commitments, and communicating with buyers, sellers, lenders, and agents.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting escrow, title, mortgage, real estate, or closing transactions.
• Knowledge of escrow processes, closing documents, and industry terminology.
• Understanding of basic accounting concepts (debits/credits).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Professional verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Open escrow orders and process transaction files.
• Order payoffs, surveys, and required documentation.
• Review title commitments and preliminary reports; clear title encumbrances.
• Communicate with buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, attorneys, and others.
• Prepare closing packages and settlement statements.
• Coordinate signing appointments, including mobile notary services.
• Assist with funding, receipt of lender funds, and disbursements.
• Submit policy write-up instructions to Title Department.
• Maintain electronic files and ensure proper uploading and organization.
• Document transaction activity for transparency and compliance.
• Support team and contribute to process improvements.
