Qualifications

• Experience coordinating work between multiple stakeholders and communicating with elected officials.
• Familiarity with a variety of K-12 educational options.
• Eight years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.
• Six years of full-time work plus five years of education or administrative services experience.
• Bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.
• An advanced degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Responsibilities

• Approves budgetary reports, records, and activities.
• Testifies before state and national legislative committees and hearings.
• Advises the division director on issues related to division programs and progress.
• Make recommendations to the division director on various matters.
• Researches educational issues, laws, and BESE policies.
• Represents the division director on key departmental committees.
• Coordinates state and federal educational programs.
• Develops programmatic policy directives and procedural guidelines.
• Directs administration of major elements of the state's reform model.
• Coordinates design, development, and piloting of reform programs and research projects.
