Qualifications

• Experience coordinating work between multiple stakeholders and communicating with elected officials; familiarity with K-12 educational options.
• Eight years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.
• Six years of full-time work experience plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.
• A bachelor's degree plus five years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; or an advanced degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Responsibilities

• Approves budgetary reports, records, and activities.
• Testifies before state and national legislative committees and hearings.
• Advises the division director on issues related to division programs and progress.
• Develops and recommends programmatic policy directives and procedural guidelines.
• Coordinates state and federal educational programs.
• Directs the administration on implementation of major elements of the state's reform model.
• Coordinates the design, development, and piloting of education reform programs.
