Job summary

Triumph Geared Solutions in Macomb, MI seeks an Environmental Safety & Health (ES&H) Specialist to develop, manage, and maintain the facility’s ES&H program, promoting safe and healthful work practices for employees, assets, and operations.

You will work with all levels of staff, serve on the plant President’s staff, and act as liaison with government agencies, driving continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. in Environmental Science, Physical Sciences, Safety Management, Industrial Hygiene, Business Management, or related field.
• ES&H-related certifications preferred (REM, CIH, CSP, CHMM)
• 3–5 years ES&H experience
• Supervisory experience
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and understand English
• Ability to assemble and analyze safety incident data and provide statistical information
• Ability to provide leadership and guidance to the site management team

Responsibilities

• Lead development of facility strategic ES&H planning; implement and execute the plan
• Lead and/or participate in investigations of ES&H incidents with corrective action
• Maintain and communicate ES&H metrics for management
• Ensure ES&H reviews are integrated into MOC and Lean efforts
• Evaluate and implement ES&H programs as needed
• Act as ES&H contact with government agencies
• Track and audit programs for regulatory compliance and prepare reports
• Develop and conduct environmental and safety training for new and existing employees
• Lead FOD Program and maintain FOD metrics
