Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks invites a Scientist Erythroid Biology to design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and prepare reports. You will maintain lab equipment and support safety protocols while contributing to IND-enabling studies.

The role emphasizes siRNA delivery, human primary cell systems, and collaboration with Delivery/chemistry and translational teams. Strong flow cytometry and RNA readouts are essential.

Qualifications

• PhD preferred; doctoral research in relevant biotech fields.
• Master’s degree with 2+ years scientific experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years scientific experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro and ex vivo assays to evaluate siRNA delivery and function
• Develop human primary cell-based systems
• Support target validation and mechanism-of-action studies for siRNA therapeutics
• Collaborate with Delivery/chemistry teams, Translational and biomarker teams
• Establish and optimize Flow cytometry panels, qPCR / RNA-based readouts
• Contribute to IND-enabling studies and data packages
